Queer Newham presents Decolonising Death

Exploring a brief history of queer death and death care.

What bodies matter? What deaths matter? How can we dismantle oppressive structures in the death industry? To explore these and many more questions we have invited Jael de la Luz, a Mexican writer, editor, community organiser, book lover and craft maker activist (fanzines and collages) based in London. Participants will be encouraged to share their own personal relationship with death. Let’s hear parts of each other’s journey, share resources and strengthen our resilience.

Jael de la Luz’s approach from intersectional feminism, anti racist practices and non binary knowledge, nourishes her work and workshops. She writes “Militancias” on Feminopraxis, a Mexican online magazine for migrant, trans feminists and Women of Colour from de Global South.
