Creative Workshop: LGBT+ Stories of Care

Saturday 21 February, 1-3pm

These workshops are a response to Newham Heritage Service’s month-long exhibition ‘Care, Campaign, Create’. Using archival material, videos and oral histories as a lens, participants will explore and consider the complex relationships between queerness, health, disability and care.

Artist Mia Maxwell will then lead them in making an artistic response to these themes through zines, posters and collaging, drawing upon the exhibition and personal experiences.

Mia Maxwell is an artist and facilitator. Mia’s work spans from fashion styling, curation, creative direction, publishing and education, graphic design and zine making, dealing with issues of representation, gender, class and disability.
